Nintendo just recently released an update on Nintendo 3DS systems which enables the customization of the Nintendo 3DS Home Menu, a feature that was announced alongside the new Nintendo 3DS in Japan in August. Each theme costs $1.99 USD (at the moment) and consists of different Mario character themes alongside a The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds theme and a classical Hanafuda theme as well. New themes, for instance a Animal Crossing: New Leaf theme, are coming later this month.
This update also allows you to post your top or bottom screen to Nintendo 3DS Image Share.
